Why do bad things happen to good people?
I received an email this afternoon about a friend of mine from childhood. We grew up in the same church. She married and she and her husband spent some time as missionaries in China. She has 2 beautiful little girls and is expecting her third child, a boy. She just found out that he has fluid on his brain and some type of kidney problems. She has appointments at Johns Hopkins tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday.
I'll be praying for her little boy and I hope that you will too. Pray that God's will is done and for healing. Also, please pray for another little boy, Baby Stellan, who will be born any day and has a heart condition. God has already worked miracles for Baby Stellan and both of these families would appreciate being lifted up in prayer right now.
It makes me wonder why such good, faithful people have such terrible things happen to them. And it makes me wonder why some people (myself included) are so fortunate to have lots of healthy children.
I do know that some of the most amazing people I've known have been through some of the greatest trials I can imagine. Things like inoperable brain tumors, heart failure, and babies who stayed on this earth for such a short time. And these are just a few of the ones who have blogs. In "real life" I know of so many others, including many in my own family. My own mother lost a son 3 days after he was born to a deadly chromosome disorder.
Sometimes I can clearly see the good that God does in these families through their hardships but so often I am still left wondering why. Today I'm not only wondering why, but I'm giving thanks for my blessings and praying for healing for all those hurting. Even if you're not the praying type, hug your loved ones a little closer today.

I know. It's such a hard question to answer and we may never know the answer until we can ask Him ourselves. I do know that miracles can still happen. I'll be praying.

I don't have any answers, but I can tell you that anything to do with the brain and John Hopkins is the place to be. They have the best pediatric neurogsurgeons in the world. They couldn't be in better hands. If Austin's brain tumor ever starts to grow, I'll be heading there.
I will say a prayer for your friend's baby. I don't know anything about kidneys, but if it's hydrocephalus, then the outlook is very good. The baby can live a wonderful life with hydrocephalus, just like Austin. Good thoughts for them and please keep us updated.
Hi, I found you through 4 little men and girly twins...I will be praying for those families, but also wanted to tell you that my daughter was born with Hydrocephalus(water on the brain), and she is doing well..she is now 3.5(and has a twin sister who is fine) If your friend ever needs to talk please pass along my email... kristan(dot)cover(at)yahoo(dot)com
