More Homecoming Pictures

All of these photos were taken by Rick Wood, a photographer for the local paper. He was kind enough to track me down on Facebook and send me these photos (and to warn me that we were going to be on the front page of the paper.)

I had no idea that the news was going to do a story about us, and initially I thought one of my blog readers must have called them! What actually happened was that someone from the news contacted Jason's unit looking for a family to profile. Apparently Jason's commander's wife gave my name to the FRG leader, who then called me to get permission to give my name out. I got a brief phone call from the public affairs office on post and they said they wanted to send a reporter "to my home" but didn't know if anyone was available. I never heard anything else about it and so I was actually surprised to see a reporter and photographer show up at the homecoming ceremony!

I was embarrassed because we were such a mess. The babies were exhausted and I had just run out of clean diapers minutes before Jason got to us. I still had the big, goofy splint on my finger from when I tore my ligament. The stroller was coated in cracker crumbs. I'm sure my eyes were red from fighting back tears. It was classic Twinsanity.

These photos were taken over the course of just a few minutes. You can tell that Leila & Sarah were a little scared. It was pretty overwhelming.
