Counting down

I figure I have somewhere between 7 and 9 weeks left in this pregnancy. I'm 31 weeks and I carried the girls to 39 weeks and 1 day. If these babies follow suit I'd imagine their birth will be around the second week of September.

I have had a few scary afternoons lately. Suddenly my Braxton Hicks contractions are accompanied by intense menstrual-type cramps. It lasts for anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. And then it usually goes away. I suspect that I'm dehydrated and I'm on my feet too much.

Jason finally realized that I was driving myself into the ground trying to do everything by myself. He's now taking the afternoons off for the next 2 weeks. Hopefully by then my dad will be here to help for a couple of weeks.

My weight gain is now up to 55 lbs. Some of that weight is fluid, placenta, etc. but over 8 lbs of that is babies! The last growth u/s estimated them to be 4 lbs, 4 oz and 3 lbs, 14 oz. Not bad!

These sneaky boys (who are still without names!) are pulling the same antics that their sisters did in utero. Baby A has been the baby on my left side, who has been breech. Baby B is on my right and has always been vertex. They label the babies based on who is closest to the cervix and thus first to come out.

Baby A is now no longer the first in line. He's now transverse/oblique with his head near my navel and his butt up under my ribs. His feet are over on my right side, right next to Baby B. Baby B is now "Baby A" as far as position in the womb. For the sake of preventing confusion, the u/s tech is keeping them labeled as they are but we just anticipate that Baby B will be the first one out. He's still vertex and very low.

The girls did the same thing. Sarah was always Baby A and stayed on my left side. Leila was breech and Baby B, hanging out on my right side. Around 36 weeks Leila flipped to vertex and pushed Sarah out of the way. Leila was the first born and Sarah followed on her heels. It's so interesting to see these babies doing the same thing! This pregnancy has been one big de ja vu so far.

I'm going to start pulling out the birth supplies in a few weeks and I'm very much looking forward to meeting these boys!
